The support offered in this guide is aimed at the home environment and throughout the guide points of contact are given for parents to find further information. The guide book was written in collaboration with experienced SEN teachers of special schools. These schools cater for pupils between the ages of 3 -19 with a range of additional need including moderate learning difficulties, severe special learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties, autistic spectrum disorder, emotional and behavioural difficulties and multi sensory impairments.
These schools serve both rural and urban areas and have on average 37% of children receiving FSMs
