RAISE Schools
Some 648 schools in Wales benefited from the RAISE grant in 2006-2007. Of these, 545 are Primary Schools, 71 are Secondary Schools and 32 are Special Schools. As a result of closures and amalgamations, the total number fell to 636 in 2007-2008, with 535, 69 and 32 in each sector respectively. In 2008-2009, 629 schools have received grants because of a reduction to 529 in the number of eligible primary schools.
